Introduction to Tubing Products
1、 General Overview

Carbon steel pipe
Carbon steel is the most common tubing material with high strength and durability, suitable for general oil and gas transportation applications. Carbon steel tubing is relatively inexpensive, but has poor corrosion resistance and is susceptible to corrosion by acidic gases or seawater, so surface coatings or other protective measures are often required to improve corrosion resistance.
Alloy steel pipe
Alloy steel pipes are added with a certain proportion of alloy elements on the basis of carbon steel, such as chromium, nickel, molybdenum, etc., to improve the high temperature resistance, corrosion resistance and compression resistance of oil pipes. Suitable for use in high temperature, high pressure and aggressive environments.
Stainless steel pipe
With strong corrosion resistance, stainless steel is suitable for long-term use in acid, alkaline, seawater and other harsh environments. Although stainless steel tubing is expensive, it is unmatched for durability and long term stability.
Polyethylene (PE) pipe
Polyethylene pipes are commonly used in some low pressure and oil and gas transportation systems that do not have to withstand extreme environments. Their advantages are strong corrosion resistance, light weight, ease of transport and installation, but generally not suitable for high pressure and high temperature environments.
Glass reinforced plastic pipe (FRP)
FRP pipes are mainly used to transport highly corrosive oil and gas or chemical liquids, characterized by corrosion resistance, wear resistance, impact resistance and light weight. FRP pipes are commonly used for secondary transportation of oil and gas and internal pipelines of refineries.
4、 Tubing Performance Requirements

Withstand voltage performance
During use, the tubing shall bear high pressure from inside and outside, such as downhole pressure, pressure generated during oil and gas flow, etc. Therefore, the tubing must have sufficient pressure resistance to prevent rupture or leakage.
Resistance to corrosion
Oil and natural gas often contain a lot of sulfide, chloride, carbon dioxide and other corrosive substances. The oil pipe must have a very strong anti-corrosion capacity, especially in wet and acidic environment, to avoid rust or corrosion on the pipe surface.
Temperature resistance performance
